Finding & Booking Shifts
Download the TrustaWorker app and browse available shifts on your Dashboard or in the Shifts tab. Filter by category and location to find work near you. For Open shifts, tap Book to confirm instantly. For Selective shifts, tap Apply — the client will review your profile and confirm you.
An Open shift is broadcast to all qualified workers in the area — you can book it directly on a first-come basis. A Selective shift means the client has hand-picked a shortlist of workers; you apply and the client chooses who to confirm. Both types work the same way once confirmed.
Once you are confirmed for a shift, in-app chat opens 6 hours before the shift start time. Use the Messages tab to discuss details, ask questions, or confirm the location — all within the app. You do not need to share your personal phone number.
Clock-In & Clock-Out
When you arrive at the shift location, the client provides you with a unique 4-digit verification code. Enter it in the app to clock in and officially start the shift. At the end of the shift, the client gives you a second code to clock out. This system ensures your time is recorded accurately and protects you from disputes about hours worked.
Ask the client to check their portal — the code is always available there. If you are unable to clock in due to a client issue, contact Trustawork support immediately through the in-app Help section so the matter can be resolved and your time protected.
Reliability Score
Your reliability score (out of 100) reflects how dependable you are as a worker. It is calculated over your last 35 shifts and considers: shift completion rate, on-time clock-ins, late cancellations, no-shows, and ratings from clients. A higher score unlocks premium and higher-paying shifts. New workers start at 100.
Show up on time, complete every shift you commit to, avoid last-minute cancellations, and deliver quality work that earns good client ratings. Only book shifts you are genuinely able to attend — it is better to apply for fewer shifts and complete them all than to cancel frequently.
Booking Types
Shifts come in four types: Hourly/Single-Day (minimum 4 hours) for one-off tasks, Multi-Day for projects spanning several consecutive days, Weekly for regular recurring needs, and Monthly for ongoing work. Longer bookings offer more stability and usually higher total earnings.
Yes — all shifts have a minimum duration of 4 hours. This ensures you earn a meaningful amount each time you work. Your net pay for the shift is always shown clearly in the app before you book or apply.
Tips & Transport Reimbursements
Yes — some clients choose to add a tip when posting a shift or after reviewing the timecard. Tips go directly to your wallet and Trustawork takes nothing from them. Never ask or pressure a client for a tip; it must always be entirely their choice.
Some clients offer to cover part or all of your transport costs. Where offered, this is indicated on the shift listing before you book. Like tips, transport reimbursements go directly to you — Trustawork does not take a cut. Never pressure a client to provide reimbursement.
Payments & Earnings
Once you clock out and the client confirms the shift, your earnings are released immediately into your Trustawork wallet. You can withdraw to any Nigerian bank account or mobile money wallet. Payouts are processed the same day — no waiting until the end of the month.
Yes. Clients pay before the shift goes live on the platform — funds are held in escrow by Trustawork. You will never complete a shift only to find the client has not paid. Your earnings are secured before you even arrive.
Cancellation Policy
Cancelling within 15 minutes of booking carries no penalty. Cancelling more than 24 hours before the shift start also carries no penalty. Cancelling within 24 hours of the shift start is treated as a late cancellation and will reduce your reliability score. Only book shifts you are fully committed to attending.
If a client cancels more than 24 hours before the shift starts, you will be notified immediately and your reliability score is unaffected. If the client cancels within 24 hours of the shift start, a cancellation fee is charged to the client — this fee is retained by the platform to compensate for last-minute disruption. Your reliability score is not penalised in either case, since the cancellation was not your fault.
Trust & Verification
All workers must complete three verification steps during onboarding before accepting shifts: (1) Phone number verification via OTP, (2) NIN (National Identification Number) verification, and (3) Facial verification to confirm your identity. This keeps the platform safe for everyone and builds trust with clients.
