TrustaWorker App — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Trustawork Technologies Limited, trading as Trustawork ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects the personal information you provide when using the TrustaWorker App mobile application. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you register and use the app:

• Personal details — full name, phone number, email address, and city of residence.
• Identity verification — a selfie photo and your National Identification Number (NIN) for worker verification purposes.
• Profile information — profile photo, biography, work experience, skills, and work categories.
• Location — your approximate device location, used to show nearby job shifts and estimate your distance from work sites. Location is only accessed when the app is in use.
• Financial information — bank account details and mobile money information you provide for withdrawing your earnings.
• Usage data — shift activity, application history, clock-in/out records, ratings, and in-app messages.
• Device information — device type and push notification token, used to send you shift alerts.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your worker account.
• To verify your identity before you can accept shifts.
• To show you available shifts near your location.
• To facilitate communication between you and Clients.
• To process your earnings and withdrawals.
• To send you push notifications about shift updates, confirmations, and reminders.
• To calculate your reliability score and worker tier.
• To improve the app and ensure platform safety.

3. Location Data

The app requests access to your device location only while the app is open ("When In Use"). We use this to calculate the distance between you and available shifts. We do not track your location in the background or when the app is closed. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings; doing so will disable distance-based shift features.

4. Camera and Photos

The app requests camera access for facial verification during account setup and to let you take a profile photo. Photo library access is requested solely to allow you to upload an existing photo as your profile picture. We do not store raw camera footage beyond what is required for verification.

5. Notifications

We send push notifications for shift-related events (e.g. booking confirmations, clock-in reminders, cancellation alerts). You can manage or disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app's notification preferences.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited cases:

• Clients — your name, profile photo, and reliability score are visible to Clients whose shifts you are booked on. Your phone number is shared only 2 hours before a shift starts.
• Supabase — our authentication and database provider, used to store account and shift data securely.
• Flutterwave — our payment processor, used to facilitate client shift payments and worker earnings withdrawals to your bank account.
• Smile Identity — our identity verification provider, used to verify your selfie and NIN. Data is processed in accordance with their privacy policy.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial transaction records).

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data storage and secure HTTPS connections to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable precaution to protect your data.

9. Children's Privacy

The TrustaWorker App is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for location or notification access at any time via device settings.
